When we write to entertain, we write to:
amuse
captivate
gladden
hold attention
delight
create and maintain interest

Learning goals

we want our listeners to laugh and smile. We want to gain their attention and interest.

We will be successful when we can:
-decide on a topic/event/character that will create an opportunity to entertain.
-start our writing in a way that 'hooks"our listeners.
-demonstrate that we have thought about and used language that will entertain.
-develop our writing in sequence.
-use language features such as rhyme.
